Service Description

Thinking Like a University Student is a three-week virtual bootcamp designed to help Grade 11, 12, and first-year university students build early confidence and readiness for first-year university. Many high school students feel unsure about what university-level learning really looks like. This program provides a supportive introduction to the skills, habits, and expectations that matter most in postsecondary settings. Students may choose between two enrollment options: Live Cohort: a guided, interactive experience that runs on specific dates (running in the months of March, May, August, and September. Live cohort groups have the option to choose between Wednesday evening sessions, or Saturday afternoon sessions.) Live cohorts have a registration cap of 15 students per course. Asynchronous Cohort: a flexible, self-paced version that includes all core lessons and workbook activities without scheduled live classes. Asynchronous cohorts have a registration cap of 20 per month in fall/winter, and 40 students in spring/summer terms. In the live, interactive version, students participate in three weekly sessions where they learn how university-level thinking, reading, writing, and research differ from their high school experience. Through guided activities, instructor support, and practical tools, they begin developing strategies for managing workload, communicating with professors, staying organized, and navigating academic integrity. The asynchronous version provides the same core content through pre-recorded video lessons and a downloadable student workbook. This format is ideal for students with busy schedules or who prefer learning at their own pace. Optional one-on-one support sessions can be added for personalized feedback or clarification. All students will explore important wellness foundations, including stress management, sleep routines, academic scheduling, and how to access campus mental-health supports. These elements are essential for first-year success yet are rarely discussed in traditional classrooms. This bootcamp is ideal for Grade 11, 12 or first-year university students who want to feel prepared, supported, and confident as they look ahead to the transition to university. Pricing varies based on live or asynchronous enrollment. Please inquire directly for pricing details on asynchronous registration & early bird pricing.
